Which destination for my next city trip ? Paris of course !
Paris is an incredible city with many faces. Culture, art, gastronomy, sport, cinema, there is something for everyone. Over a long weekend, you can easily enjoy its benefits without being too rushed. But we prefer to warn you, a long weekend is not enough to visit Paris.
A first stay in Paris
If you are coming to Paris for the first time, we can only recommend the unmissable attractions such as the Louvre Museum, the Opéra Garnier, the Orsay Museum, and the Palace of Versailles. You will have to make choices of course. Think that you will easily spend an entire day at the Louvre or the Palace of Versailles, half a day in Orsay and almost as much at the Opera. In addition to their collections, they are impressive monuments and we love walking the corridors in search of historical details. Then, a few walks are recommended for a first visit, such as the Ile Saint-Louis, the Luxembourg Gardens or Montmartre and its vineyards. As for restaurants, the choice is so vast that you will need to seek advice. The receptionists of our hotel love restaurants and will know how to inform you and make reservations for you.
A second stay in Paris
If you have already visited the capital, there is no point in visiting the major museums. Why not going to the Delacroix Museum in Place Furstemberg, the Middle Ages Museum or the Conciergerie and the Sainte-Chapelle? Places that deserve to be seen and that are not always a priority for travelers. Take a stroll in the Marais area or towards rue Mouffetard and the Arènes de Lutèce. Old Paris is still as attractive as ever!
Used to stays in Paris
Are you one of those fans of the Capital? The wonderful thing about Paris is that it will always have surprises in store for you. Have you ever visited the Musée de la Préfecture de Police? Very interesting with the history of the judicial police. And the Museum of Fairground Arts? Magical and fantastic. Or the Nissim de Camondo Museum in the 8th district? A sumptuous mansion with a history as rich as the collection. Discover the Square Montsouris, the rue des Thermopyles, or the Place de l’Estrapade. And then, the temporary exhibitions are certainly not the same as when you last came to Paris.😉
Hotel des Marronniers : a lovely break during your city trip.
During your city break, you will appreciate our little bucolic hotel hidden in the heart of Saint-Gemain-des-Prés. In fact, in the discreet rue Jacob, at the end of a small cobbled courtyard, lies the Hôtel des Marronniers and its secret garden. At the back of the establishment, a garden with two beautiful and large chestnut trees provides that little touch of greenery that feels good in the heart of Paris.
By staying in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, you can easily and quickly access the main tourist sites. To give you an example, the Louvre Museum is just a 5-minute walk from the Hotel des Marronniers!
